A History of Customer Service and Quality Event Production
Gift Shows for Consumer Goods
George Little Management serves industries as diverse as textiles and hospitality. But we're best known for the highly successful series of gift shows on which the company was founded.
Family Heritage
The first Gift Show® opened in 1924, when George Little banded with other giftware importers and held a small exhibition at a Chicago hotel. Its success led Little to form other gift shows throughout the United States.
By the time George was joined by his sons -- Bill in the 1930s and Don in the 1940s -- the gift shows were a well-established success. Like their father, Bill and Don appreciated the value of bringing buyers and sellers together and knew that doing it successfully meant being responsive to the industries they served and having the courage to innovate.
Commitment to Service and Quality
Bill and Don Little extended outstanding customer service to attendees as well as exhibitors, believing that longevity and success would result from the creation of a beneficial and remunerative event for all concerned:
- Customer care extends throughout our organization today and into every relationship we form.
- It starts with having the expertise and capabilities to serve your wide range of needs.
Teamwork
At GLM, we're equipped to handle every aspect of trade show marketing, with very little contracted outside of the company. Working as a team, our staff of over 100, including show managers with an average of 15 years of industry expertise oversee the marketing and production of a show from beginning to end, with separate departments for advertising, public relations, attendee registration and operations. The 27 shows we market and produce today are proof of the strength of our approach to business.
Trade Show Leader
GLM has always approached trade show marketing from our customers' perspective:
- We believe in putting your needs first and providing service and value through a combination of long-term planning, teamwork, creativity, effective communication and the highest levels of integrity.
- These principles have guided us since George F. Little first ventured into the trade show business seven decades ago, and they've helped us maintain a highly competitive profile in the industry ever since.
- Our corporate values and the high standards we espouse are evident in every event we manage.
