Set-up and Operations FAQ
Do I have to review the online Set-up Manual?
YES! This survival guide is only the cliff notes version of the real thing. Familiarize yourself with the Show Rules, Booth Display details, Forms and Deadlines contained within the manual. The manual may be accessed anytime by clicking here or access our top most requested forms by clicking here
May I sell my samples?
No. In order to maintain the wholesale integrity of the Show, sample selling is prohibited. One-of-a-kind merchandise exhibited in Kentia Hall and Concourse Hall are the ONLY exceptions. All orders must be shipped, even if they are complimentary. Exhibitors seen selling samples jeopardize their opportunity to exhibit in any future GLM shows.
Is there a height limit for my booth display?
Yes. No fixtures, signage or merchandise may be placed above 8 feet. If your booth display exceeds 8 feet you must contact our Operations Department at 914-421-3344 to obtain permission to exceed the 8' high mark.
Is lighting provided in my booth?
This varies by division. Click here for details on specific division lighting packages.
Does my display need to be flame proofed?
YES!!!! It is common practice for the LAFD to conduct a Match Test to every display. Please bring all Certificates of Flame Resistance on-site for the Fire Marshall to view. Certificates from other states may not be valid. Please contact the LAFD at 213-978-3640 to determine validity. You may also make arrangements with our vendor, Delta Pacific Technologies, to flame proof your display materials. Call 800-794-0888 for an appointment.
Do I have to hire Labor when setting up my display?
You may set-up your display without hiring labor if one person can accomplish the task in less than a half hour without the use of tools. This does not pertain to unpacking and placement of your merchandise. If a dispute should arise involving labor, please contact your floor manager immediately.
May I enter another exhibitor's booth and check out their product?
NO! As stated in your contract, exhibitors are not permitted to enter into another exhibitor's space without invitation or when the space is unattended. You must first ask permission from the exhibitor. Please be respectful of your fellow exhibitors. Disregarding this rule will jeopardize future participation in GLM shows.
